Indian Railways
We always wonder if the Indian trains could be faster than their existing speed so that one does not have to think of ways or kill time sleeping or hogging junk food. If a train personally would write a biography of it surely I would mention its jealousy towards its counterparts in foreign countries.
It would be so good if Indian trains too could be made to run fast, comfortable, hygienically as their foreign counterparts. This would be just not being the end of its grievances. Indians have a tendency to keep their homes clean but their surroundings are something they are rarely concerned about. Even after earnest request by the train authorities travelers fail to keep them clean and in order. They create a huge mess throwing dry waste such as wrappers and other food items which the trains and other travelers have to bear unless some government cleaners take up the task of cleaning the mess.
Indian Railways in spite of all odds still tries to stand on its feet and declare its presence as the largest railway network in the world. Undoubtedly it is the largest but is it the best? It has upgraded with certain services offering online reservation system and SMS query and call- center inquiries
The Indian Railways promotes Rail tourism through which one can travel throughout India at fairly considerate rates for middle-class strata. For the upper class too it has trains and offers services which are commendable. Fairy Queen, Palace on Wheels is a few examples among a few others.
The Indian railways still has a long way to go and it might take a long time to improve such a big establishment. But this is the right time to ban people from traveling without ticket with their heads high being sure of the fact that they can easily bribe the ticket superintendents to get unlawful reservations.
